when we were little kids, eating lunch in our metaphoric 'school lunch rooms', we all knew that 'needles were scary and gross'… they were 'eeewww'….
and we were correct……….

over the decades, I've known lots of people who used syringes.
some of these people were actually very smart, and I cared about them very much.
I always had a little tactic I'd use whenever the opportunity would arise:
if given a chance, I'd wait till they weren't looking, and I'd break the metal tips off all of their syringes.
they'd say "WTF DID YOU JUST DO?!!!"
and I smiled, and say, "I can't stop you from using needles… But I can sure as fuck stop you from using them right now'"
