I posted a brief statement on CNA just a few hours ago from Monsignor Lantheaume, but these additional posts from him on Facebook just now were referenced on CM. It's quite a bit more aggressive than his CNA statement! I'm sort of hoping these are figures of speech but since Vigano did mention "prematurely deceased" in his statement rather curiously, I'm not entirely sure it is.
On Facebook, however, he went into greater detail, asserting, "[The testimony] says the whole truth. I am a witness. The nuncio Viganò is the most honest Prelate that I know in the Vatican."
He cautions, "These may be the last lines I write… if I am found chopped up by a chainsaw and my body sunk in concrete, the police and the hacks will say that we have to consider the hypothesis of suicide!!!"

He did dance around the "homosexuality vs clericalism" line. He's being internally political on that end, and he could be firmer there with less issue. Also having the Vatican investigate itself is a bizarre solution to the problem. Even if they did appoint laity, they'd only need to pick the ones who defend officialdom no matter what to achieve a positive result. Already you see in comment sections on these news sites a sizable minority of them attacking anyone who even vaguely supports the nuncio screaming about how nothing's wrong and how they don't want the "right wing" to take over!

He was papal nuncio for the United States. Basically, the closest kind of comparable secular role is that he was an ambassador. To pretty much one of the most prominent nation-states on this planet. This is not a minor figure who has a hot mouth, and you can see he's not being treated as one, with bishops and cardinals fighting against each other over this.
