Geocentrism or Heliocentrism?

What does the Bible teach? Which does science support?

Deocentrism

Radical centrism

None? Have you actually tried to read it?

it is always the sun that moves
when god says the sun goes down, the sun sets, the sun rises etc

Psalm19:
4 Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun,
5 Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race.
6 His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.

Jos10:
12 Then spake Joshua to the Lord in the day when the Lord delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon.

Isa38:
8 Behold, I will bring again the shadow of the degrees, which is gone down in the sun dial of Ahaz, ten degrees backward. So the sun returned ten degrees, by which degrees it was gone down.

this

the earth being 3rd from the sun reinforces the trinity and the importance of the number 3. however i do believe that there is only life on earth and nowhere else.

What about in Heaven?

Bible: Earth is not a point in space, therefore it can not be a center of anything. Earth is a big thing.

Science: Any point in space can be used as a center of a coordinate system.

The picture, btw, is misleading. It is customary to approximate the heliocentric orbits with ellipses, the orbits, however, are not elliptic.

Nothing speaks of heliocentrism, neither bible, nor Church (which condemned it as heresy) nor science which says the sun revolves around the supermassive blackhole of the galaxy and that there is no central point in the universe.

Excellent, so when people read otherwise by studying science they will all lose faith. What a great way of spreading the Gospel!

It's how gravity works. Small things fall towards/orbit big things. Now go away.

How about you post a gif of "heliocentrism." You know, where everything is in its orbit, unmovable, going round about forever in perfection.
"Heliocentrism" is just one example of God's perfect handiwork in the Universe that you shut your eyes to.

"The eleven theologian-qualifiers of the Holy Office meet to consider the theological qualifications proper to be attached to the following propositions:

( i ) The sun is the centre of the universe (“mundi”) and absolutely immobile in local motion.
( ii ) The earth is not the centre of the universe (“mundi”); it is not immobile but turns on itself with a diurnal movement.

All unanimously censure the first proposition as “foolish, absurd in philosophy {i.e. scientifically untenable] and formally heretical on the grounds of expressly contradicting the statements of Holy Scripture in many places according to the proper meaning of the words, the common exposition and the understanding of the Holy Fathers and learned theologians”; the second proposition they unanimously censured as likewise “absurd in philosophy” and theologically “at least erroneous in faith”."

Please stop being this stupid

space is more or less infinite and any point can be considered a center
whats the other single thing all those points have in common? god
god is omnipresent and is the true center

Waiting in the answer to this

Catholicism isn't the One True Church(tm)

What do you want to be said? The first condemned proposition is obviously false. The Sun is neither immobile, nor the center of the universe. The second proposition is perhaps true, but the condemnation was not intended as an infallible or irreformable decree, and was consistent with the prevailing science of the time.

Yes it was. See Speculatores Domus Israel.

"For this purpose, we have caused the Tridentine and Clementine Indices to be added to this general Index, and also all the relevant decrees up to the present time, that have been issued since the Index of our predecessor Clement, that nothing profitable to the faithful interested in such matters might seem omitted. Since then all these directions have been faithfully and accurately carried out, and a general Index of this kind has been composed,—to which also the rules of the Tridentine Index, with the observations and instructions added to the Clementine Index, have been prefixed; this same general Index as it is put forth, composed by our order, revised, and printed at the press of our Apostolic Camera, and which we will should be considered as though it were inserted in these presents, together with all, and singular, the things contained therein, we, having taken the advice of our Cardinals, confirm, and approve with Apostolic authority by the tenor of these presents, and: command and enjoin all persons everywhere to yield this Index a constant and complete obedience

Instead of copy and pasting without thinking, why don't you explain to your readers why that has anything to do with geocentrism or heliocentrism, since this relation is not at all clear from your quoted text? At any rate, the answer is that this is talking about the Index of Forbidden Books, and affirming the status of the Index. That is a disciplinary matter. It's not a formal declaration about doctrine.

Reminder that this includes the Holy Bible

no i meant to say there isn't life on other planets. of course there is life in heaven
