The Handmaid's Tale

Thoughts on this?

Utter horseshite. The same culture exists today in Muslim countries, but they bash Christians instead.

The novel is written for the audience. The Republic of Gilead is based loosely on Christian reconstructionism, but that's because of the audience. The overreaching ideas in the book also include places like Mali or Syria, but North America in the mid-1980s didn't really know much about the Middle East. So, to convey the ideas, a pseudo form of extreme Christianity is used.

it's a bunch of liberal bullshit. pay no attention to it

Like most media, enjoyable if you keep in mind that the villains are really the heroes and vice versa.

I've actually read the book, I had to.
It's not even feminist…It's just void and pretty much a woman's thoughts written in a book. Extremely boring and unstructured.

What's that?

I read it about 15 years ago, and I can't remember much of anything about it. Other than thinking how silly it all was. Not to mention overrated. I never bothered getting into anything else Atwood wrote, because I knew most of it was feminist nonsense.

jewflix garbage not even worth considering

Fear mongering feminist trash. Trying to get people to be afraid of those big mean Christians.

Feminazi autism. Would live in Gilead though tbhqhfamalam.

Make women property again, but unironically

Cringe feminist fanfic of reality

Zig Forums says it's foolish to get triggered by a MAGA hat.
Zig Forums gets triggered by women in red and white.

Sage.

Technically, The Handmaid's Tale doesn't slander Christianity either. It shows one particular facet of Christianity and what would happen if they ruled the nation. If you believe Christian Reconstructionism is the pinnacle of Christianity, I strongly suggest you re-evaluate your relationship with Jesus.

Also, putting that hat on our Lord is kinda blasphemous.

...

I saw a bit of the old movie on tv years ago. All I remember is that there were a group of women sitting in a room when one of them pointed to another and said "she had an abortion!" then all of the others pointed at her and chanted the word "whore" over and over again. It was very silly.

More Feminist cancer we can thank ((America)) for.

A bad joke.

It's a fantasy world similar to Man in the High Castle, meaning that some fringe leftists try to paint it as a dystopia but it really comes accross as a utopia for normal people.

I've read the book. It's Margaret Atwood indulging herself in feminist fearmongering about Christian patriarchy while knowing very little about Christianity. Those people's Bible is a few snippets of Genesis, with fail hermeneutics, possibly because Atwood herself didn't make it past Genesis and therefore didn't get to learn about Jesus.

It's like Atwood thinks that religions are interchangeable and that Christianity could turn Islam almost overnight and then add on some pagan-inspired seasonal human sacrifice rituals to satisfy the female population's suppressed anger.

Jewish drivel.

never watched/read or subjected myself to this kind of nonsense/ got boys to do my math homework in highschool/ avoided fear programming thnx to god

This is exactly what meanie Christians do to poor womxn and LGBT every day. You guys should try to be more like those nice people I saw back on reddit.
