Holy guacamole. Jesus called St. Peter satan because Peter told Jesus that he wouldn't let Him be killed by the jews. Peter was getting in the way of God's plan because Peter didn't fully understand what was to happen.

What you said it's correct, Peter didn't understand what was supposed to happen, I just wanted to point out that from the beginning of the foundation of the Church, based on what we catholics believe, Jesus was clear to Peter that he must not keep the will and intentions of men, but the ones from God.
