Preferably buried or entombed, facing east.

Underground or at sea is traditional, but there's nothing you can physically do to a corpse that would frustrate the resurrection

I imagine the way the Christian wants written in a will or something.

Burial is prefered

Burial if possible. But if you're in a plane crash or something, not much you can do.

If he's a Catholic, cremation is preferred as being ecologically friendly is very important to Pope Francis, and burial isn't.

Why facing east?

I was reading some stuff the other day and I was wondering what about something like the sky burials that are done in the tibet? of course leaving the buddhist stuff behind and giving a proper ritual first.
Is it wrong?

You're raised up incorruptible in the end so it doesn't really matter. Your burial is temporary

My devoutly Catholic grandfather was cremated, and we still had a requiem mass for him, so I assume it's ok.

That's how any body will ultimately become. Dust

With a shovel I guess?

It's the direction that Christ will come from when He returns.

If you're on your back in the ground, wouldn't you be facing up?
