Also why is gitlab using a VPS rather then a dedicated server? VPS' are utterly pwned with exploits like specter.

Now you get it. This is basic functionality. Ever heard of amazon SES? Shit tons of people do this. If this was true there world was have collapsed already. Turns out it was mostly media fear mongering. oy vey don't rent out servers guys it means the other company owns you!
You are sounding like the anti trump retards. really no one should use any freesoftware because its all fucked, lets bang some rocks together and build calculators out of dirt
Michael Cook
I didn't say that. Libre software is a step up from proprietary crap. But just because it is libre doesn't mean it is secure. Atleast with libre software you can fix it yourself rather then depending on a vendor who may or may not every update the software again. Making your own hardware is a nobel ideal which more people should invest into the knowledge of. You are right, this by itself means nothing. But ontop ofthat gitlab uses the azzure cloud for hosting, a microsoft VPS, and magically all the whois data on this has dissapeared from ICAAN's databases in the past few days. If it smells like botnet, acts like botnet, and looks like botnet, it is botnet. Stop trying to deflect from all the shady dealings microsoft has with gitlab and its owner.
You are totally right! Using a VPS means you are in bed with them! How dare they rent servers from one of the big 3 cloud providers. This is the smoking gun.
Andrew Gonzalez
Indeed, would you trust microsoft or jewgle not to purge your project's source code from azzure cloud or google cloud if you made an account and uploaded it there? I sure as hell wouldn't as microsoft and google have a history of doing exactly that. Hence not using platforms like github or gitlab that use microsoft services and getting the CoCk in the proccess.
I have been using gitlab for literally years and this has never happened. I have used AWS and GCE for years and this has never happened. So yes this shit does work.
