I want that. In the early days, pretty only smart people who had actual things to say had web sites. Scientists. Engineers. Doctors. Businessmen had no reason to be on it. They could barely operate computers by themselves.
So what if fagbook dies? Nobody gives a shit, it's useless. What good is it if all it does is connect you to your normie dumbass "friends" you already put up with IRL? Can you imagine how glorious a return to the early internet would be? A return to an expert's internet? Where you can actually learn new things just by talking to people?
People killed the internet. All these people. Fucking morons who don't deserve all the power the internet affords. All they did was attract the businessmen and their scummy businessman ways that corrupt everything. People used to make websites and pay for them out of pocket because they just wanted to get their ideas out there. Now it has to be "monetized" otherwise it won't hhappen at all? Whatever happened to intrinsic motivation?

Too many people. You can't just pay out of pocket for this kind of crap anymore. Get even the slightest bit popular and suddenly you're paying $10,000 a month for bandwidth.

Not if you have a decent website and aren't sending 5mb worth of javashit down the pipe every time someone requests a webpage. Who needs them. Fuck normalfags, fuck google, fuck facebook, fuck web design past 1995

Yes. And that's bad ? I'll be happy when these disappears. Also porn sharing will always exist. Best times. Almost all people on Zig Forums want this cancer who generates botnet after botnet removed.

ITT: The web becomes more accessible and LARPers get upset that they don't have an in-group that generates quality intellectual content.

What we need is a search engine that will still index these pages and not throw a tantrum because your site doesn't give a rats ass about Mobile shit. Neocities is also a great step at getting the old web back. Tons of shit on there, but there's some real good gems. We need to put an emphasis back on content we care about and not just flashy fucking bullshit, and fullscreen ads with dipshits drinking coffee in the background.

Our internet is much better than it was +20 years ago. We'll get by on torrenting our porn.

Businessman pays Websiteman to put ads for the toast he is selling; Websiteman use this money to do website things. To cover the cost of paying Websiteman, Businessman has to make toast more expensive. Normalman sees ad and buys expensive toast, paying both Businessman and Websiteman. So Normalman ends up paying anyway; internet is not free. If Normalman pay website directly then Websiteman not need ads. Then Businessman not need to make toast expensive to pay ad so toast becomes cheaper! unless Businessman is asshole then he just gets more money himself. Some people may say they never buy toast from website but that just means someone else is being cheated into paying for you when he buys his toast; better to be honest and ask him to pay for you.
The first web browser came with a WYSIWYG editor. So every normal non-technical person cold make up a static page and then host it ether at home, ISP servers or on geocities, yes there were even teenage girls on the internets back then. What corporations took from people is the way to express creativity and communicate in their own unique ways, they took people's freedom. First came web forums, as a web alternative to BBS, over-engineered piles of perl and php code, then "social networks" merged upon them, then came blogs like livejournal and blogger, web 2.0 seized the control from people's hands, then myspace that still allowed certain degree of creativity on personal profile pages, then facebook and social media websites alike.
Today it led to such a fucking pile of javascript mess and useless data traffic, that most people on the planet who access Internet over pocket 5-inch terminals by the way, so-called "smart"phones, over literal dial-up speeds and three-digit latencies, have the only left refuge in form of messaging apps where they communicate, read their news, download porn, get doctor's appointments, order pizza, a straight fall back to AOL and CompuServe types of walled garden service. All because modern web even when "mobile-optimized" is so messy and unintuitive to use, takes up too much traffic and consumes too much computing resources to render on battery-operated device.
And yet still web barely does it's intended purpose, what Doug Engelbart and Vannevar Bush wished it to be, Ted Nelson is seen as a old boomer freak somewhere near Terry Davis. The web came to be as glorified malware distribution network owned by 7 corporations instead of being an interplanetary knowledge base owned by people for the people.
