Euthanasia

You shouldn't commit suicide, because you're here for a reason, in the sense that you chose to come to this world to experience it, whatever you chose, and to suicide is let's say to interfere with that. And it's not you who makes that choice (suicide), but the person, the personality, you are not that, just like you're not a human body, it's just a vehicle, and the personality, and the mind and intellect are tools for experience this world, but they are tricky and dangerous ones, and when u identify with them, i.e make them your identity, you will have problems, you will suffer, Buda talked about this. And you know, 99,9% of humanity are in this situation, that's why the world is what it is. But it's designed to be like this, and that's why you, me came here, to experience it. That said it's not that serious to suicide, but it should not be done.

On the topic of euthanasia, if the body simply can't function properly anymore like when it is on a vegetative state for example, that's it, the experience is over isn't it so euthanasia should be a possibility for these people.

I hate to call you out on theology but this is a deeply unchristian line of thinking. You eliminate free will. In all of what you said there is nowhere any room for a meaningful soul, to which can be attached virtuous and pious deeds. If you make my choice of suicide already inbuilt, God dos ot have need for me - I don't even exist.

I don't know what to think of it. The decidedly beautiful rantings of the religious (romantic?) like those below always fuck with my thinking.
On one hand, I think your life is yours and yours alone, so you should be 100% allowed to end it as you please. Not like someone can meaningfully stop you, anyways.
On the other hand, I can almost read into the "Let your loving gov- brothers and sisters heal you user, go home, don't kill yourself".
People should be allowed to kill themselves, but not if it is some huge cost to society.

It's early christian (when it still wasn't a religion), but updated lel. The choice of suicide isn't inbuilt, I didn't say that.

I do not recall this from Sunday school.

wtf did I just read? Just…what???

oppose because assisted suicide is a liberal distraction

all suicidals should revolt before throwing their lives away

The only reason they're pushing killing is for population control and to push poor people into suicide rather than expensive care. Dressing it up as a progressive, liberal position is just gross.

If I'm going to kill myself, or ask someone to kill me, I don't want any fucking doctors or social workers or bureaucrats breathing down my neck while I die. Let me die alone with some measure of freedom from this totalitarian shithole society, if it has to come to that.

Culling the unproductive part of the population is a logical conclusion of capitalism. This will manifest as euthanasia in the near future because the whole 20th century gave all that mass killings a bad rap, and the system can't simply ignore unproductive people and let them to their own devices anymore.

Euthanasia is mostly illegal, but unofficially, as far as I know, it's not uncommon for nurses or loved ones to "accidentally" disable a dying patient's life support, etc. I'm all for it, tbh. Why should you be forced to live when all it means is a few more painful months before you finally die?
