Flawless plan:

True, but there is a difference between a private citizen funding an ideology and a state trying to spread their own ideology.

Eat capitalism from the inside.

Soros doesn't do shit for the left.

Socialism is about our self-interest as the proles. If you were a billionaire, it'd hardly be in your self-interest, given how nobody gets that rich without being part of the ruling class.

It's unlikely sure, but a possibility. Obviously you would have to go against your self interest, but you could be rewarded as the father of a modern communist enlightenment.

To be fair plenty of aristocrats aided with the Jacobins, class traitors can and do exist

The damage you would have done to the working class to get that kind of money outweighs the benefits of having a class conscious billionaire who funds leftist initiatives.
The reason billionaires can fund pro-capitalist opinions like what the Kochs are doing is because the media under capitalism is run by the ruling class, if some leftist tried to fund rebels or activists his career would be over. Like the one thing that capitalists don't tolerate is when other capitalists fuck them over.

A billionare could become a socdem if he's smart enough to realise that libertarian policies aren't in his class interest. Advocating for a socialist mode of production? Extremely unlikely.

yeah but he dun fund the karltural marx school of social justice

There is no ethical consumption under capitalism. I think it would be worth it
