How come no socialists are talking about this?

Why not have them do things that cannot achieve a days worth of pay. Something china is doing now anyways. I can see minimum wage for criminals in prison that haven't victimized someone in any physical way. But then again, I don't want drug crimes and stuff like that to be crimes in the first place.

prisoners don't pay rent or electricity or any kinds of bills whatsoever, they probably have a higher take home pay per hours work than run of the mill normalfag wageslaves

Nobody makes $2.75 a day in discretionary income unless they have crazy expenses like health bills and debt payments.

Yet you're still tied up in petty moralism.

If they're working they're working. If they still have a sentence left to serve they'll be serving it. If the state wants to give them the opportunity to work in the first place then they should pay them fairly for the work they do.

plenty of people just barely cover rent and food with their paycheck even after ebt and section 8 giving them a helping hand, plenty of people quite literally have no disposable income whatsoever

I think you mean discretionary income. Everyone mixes this up I guess because "high disposable income individual" is some kind of meme or something. But yeah like I said theirs no way someone could work full time and have no discretionary income after bills.

Just to take an example: Minimum wage in Mississippi is $7.25 Working 40 hour weeks that comes out to:
$15,080.00 / year
After Taxes:
$14,126 (This is the Disposable income.)

2 Bedroom apartment in Jackson goes for like $650 a month lets say.

$7800

From USDA average food costs per person is about $225 a month.

$2700

So just covering food and rent we're only at $10,500

So that leaves 302 dollars per month after housing and food.

Which is only like 10 dollars a day. Yes a pittance. And if you have other major expenses you're kind of fucked.

But besides all that. I can't find the info because these articles seem to be very unclear. But I don't think the companies who use this labor are paying the prison the minimum wage and the prison deducts the prisoners exspenses. In fact according to this:

atlantablackstar.com/2014/10/10/12-mainstream-corporations-benefiting-from-the-prison-industrial-complex/

They're actually given money by the government in the form of taxes credits to pay these prisoners third world wages.

So the first issue here is that we the taxpayer are paying for the prisoners living expenses one way or another and the companies are getting practically free labor.
