The Neo-Nazi's that push the blatantly inflated numbers are obviously false but those that defend it with EBIC MEMES TO OWN DA NATZI XD are also wrong as they are in effect celebrating one side of an Inter-Imperialist conflict (Which is what the western front ultimately was) and the subjegation and imperial conquest of Germany after the displacement of the NSDAP by the Soviets and allies
The Imperialist occupation of western Germany and the subjegation of the people of West Germany under the Imperialist BRD can not be forgiven or celebrated with the "they started it" line

Agreed. The fact is that it deliberately targeted civilians and was a war crime. And if you want to get fussy with this specific death toll, look at the far deadlier raids on Hamburg, Tokyo, or Hiroshima.
What these napalm-fired atrocities reveal is that the mass slaughter of civilians makes strategic, logical sense. Bomber Harris didn't burn a mass of predominately women, children and the elderly to death because he hated the Aryan race, he did it because the bean counters determined that "targeting the morale of the civil population" with a "de-housing" campaign was necessary.
Why does this matter? Because the logic of strategic bombing brutally revealed during WWII still applies today. As has been revealed numerous times by declassified documents, nuclear war plans explicitly target civilian populations - look at category 275 in my attached PDF. If we don't act, what happened in Dresden will happen to all of us.
