Having some material possessions that are essential to a certain time period (just try going about without a phone) doesn't mean you aren't poor. Take for example working class Brits in the 19th century: they had gas lighting, clothes etc, but they would still be in a far less favorable position than some savage living in his village before colonization. If today you have to work several jobs and still can barely get by, having a fucking cheap microwave or a fridge - something essential - doesn't mean you're by any means rich.
The same principle is why anthropologists say our state only worsened after discovering agriculture, when we supposedly became wealthier.
In the OP that was not all that guy said. He specifically said Which is false. While your material wealth is greater, your social standing is actually worse due to increased inequality. You still have to work every day just to get by, just like everyone before you (and arguably we work even more hours than they did 500 years ago), and meanwhile the very richest individuals have a level of wealth that rivals that of entire countries.

no one is poor in the first world because their wages are artificially higher because of the exploitation of the third world
Repeating yourself does not constitute an argument.
Now this is a hot take. Wouldn't you describe working 2-3 jobs a day to break even and not being able to afford healthcare or education without entering an impossible debt spiral as being poor?

having the balance of brain chemicals that psychologically constitute general happiness. it literally hasn't though, people younger than me have a whole new set of problems to deal with from social media being forced on them, such as maintaining both privacy and impression management.

Well, I don't have any interesting stories, though I was flipped channels during my folks' holiday party in a room with my Trumpy chud uncle and my 15-year-old cousin. We were chilling in there away from the main party. Anyways my uncle thought it was interesting as I explained internal Central Committee politics in the 50s. Then my cousin said "some of my friends say 'gulag' at school all the time, like 'you're going to the gulag' and so on."
