Can't wait for 2020 tbh

Any thoughts on likely contenders and what next election will mean for american politics going forward?

Worried about his stance on imperialism.
Ex-soldiers seem to either be incredibly anti-war, or they've bought into imperialism completely.

He's pretty fucking based in everything but foreign policy: where he is eerily silent. The weird thing is that the full on imperialist ex-military democrats sound out clear and proud how they love to bomb muslamics but he says jackshit apart from "we need fewer homeless vets". I am not sure if it is a good or bad sign tbh.

Sounds like more of a socdem ("I'm fine with wealthy people"), but I guess you gotta work with what you have. He seems pretty sympathetic, as socdems go.

Tbf tho for an American to use the term "working class" is pretty fucking radical.
Regardless though, he is utterly silent on foreign policy which is concerning.

Being anything but an interventionist and pro-Israel is unheard of and will probably get you a conveniently well-funded primary challenger if you speak out.

AOC did it.

She also backpedaled on it

She also went full drive reverse and started praising the US military for their "humanitarian interventions"

Source?

TIL Trump is an extreme radical. Learn more about American, they pander to workers here all the time while fucking them over.

This. I observed this during Trump elections. Americans can at the same time recognize their class AND NOT be class conscious at the same time.

The rich will ramp up the power and frequency of the 5g network and fry the aluminum adjuvant brains of the millenials that try to start an uprising.

True Story.

In American political discourse, “working class” often just means engaged in physical “blue collar” industries, of it doesn’t outright refer to some aesthetic value. There seem to legit be people who think that the “working class” are people who wear flannel, drive a pickup and listen to country and/or dad rock, even if they’re a car dealership owner or trade in stocks. I would be willing to bet money Ghost identifies as “working class”.

Bullshit, wheres your source?

Went to one of his events when he was running for Congress and he talked a lot about how it's fucked up that the only options for kids in WV are

And then later talked about how soldiers went over to die for oil. It's not a perfect anti-imperialist stance, but it sounds like he just needs theory at this point because he's ALMOST there.

Who the hell is Ghost?

This stock trader who hosts “True Capitalist Radio”

That's literally all social democrats.

Is ghost still around?
I thought he quit

Okay that's promising, someone should send him some Smedly Butler tbh.

He actually came back for a while, but he got royally assblasted by the 2018 midterms

lmao

He is my ideal US president, because he can perform socdem tier damage control on the US but doesnt explicitly call himself socialist, he's a former Trump supporting union populist. So we'd end up with an expanded horizon of political possibility without the Bernie tier "socialism is when the government does anything"

It really isnt, most of the time it is literally just used as a synonym for "not explicitly wealthy conservatives"

i dont like to talk about ameretard shit and i think most posters here have shitty takes
But being a veteran is very helpful cause retards(of pretty much all countries) cant pull the commies are evil anti-patriots or some shit

Yeah, that's probably a good thing, come to think of it.

Exactly. Most Americans actually believe reasonably high taxes on the rich, universal healthcare, and other lukewarm socdems reforms are radical utopianism. If a populist Democrat who just acts consistently with what the party claims to already want to do but isnt able to because its impossible actually institutes some of it, people will be forced to reconcile a century of propaganda with the fact that a better standard of living was actually possible. It'll also make conservatives look even more like hysterical fearmongers. And all of this won't stop the US declining as a hegemon or internally fracturing, so it isnt as if it would close off the viability of genuinely socialist politics.

Call me when he proclaims 'No War but the Class War!'

Wait Coal is still a thing in WV?

Also tbh he is pro-trade union which would allow for the expansion of the movement which is inherently good for socialists.

Yup.
It's kind of their bread and butter in some places their

I watched an interview between him and David Pakman where he calls Mattis "brilliant" and said Trump should have listened to him instead of letting him go. I don't know why, because I'm pretty sure Mattis would have never let him pull out of Syria.
Makes me think his foreign policy might be iffy.

Isn't that more the direct opposite of a SocDem?

no thanks

More fascist Freikorps shilling 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧social democracy🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧 bring people into the Democrat party.
>After retiring from the military, Ojeda worked as a high school teacher from 2013 to 2016, when he became a member of the West Virginia Senate.[10] He helped start a Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps at a local high school.[1] He established a social services nonprofit, the Logan Empowerment Action and Development, which engages in community cleanup.[1]

I don’t know why you keep trying to push this meme, BO, the Freikorps weren’t the German military, they were mercenaries. The closest analogue the Freikorps in the US would be their “private military contractors”, like Blackwater.
