Yes, alphabet soup influence is understated in popular accounts as it always is. That is barely relevant in this case – they couldve fought, fled, made the children flee, but Jones was a cult leader not a strategic revolutionary and wanted his flock to go out ritualistically.

The Polish nationalists pushed a bill that criminalized calling the Nazi death camps "Polish" death camps. They acknowledge that the Holocaust happened, but since Poland was under Nazi control they don't view it as right that they get assigned a portion of the blame simply because it took place on Polish soil.
