Aye the yellow vests are a good example of this, they've now evolved into a broad movement that realised their immediate aims cannot be conducted within the existing governmental system but must be done by replacing it with a new system.

SYNDICALISM WITH ARAB CHARACTERISTICS WHEN

To be fair lad, Tunisia is part of what people call MENA, so perhaps that poster should have said that instead, but it's not too dissimilar geopolitically to the middle east.

I'm calling it right now. 2019 will be the year of the strikes

If it's not in the workers long term interest its probably not worth supporting

Dissident Republicans have become more active a a result of the Brexit Referendum, it has nothing to do with the strikers. That being said, Ireland is also experiencing strikes with nurses and teachers.

Here's the reason we're seeing strikes everywhere: we're at the height of the economic cycle and unemployment is as low as its going to get.

Some leftists have an apocalyptic frame of mind and so they think that the worse things are the closer we are to socialism or building public support for it. But the reality is good times actually provide the working class with the best leverage against capital. It also draws new workers into the struggle, and this is particularly the case in developing countries that have dissolving peasantries.
