The reason we aligned with Israel is because it was either that or die. No other country was willing to help us. We were outnumbered. We were out of ammunition, weapons, and all the surrounding countries wanted to see us dead. We say this and we will continue to say it whenever someone brings this up: We would've even made a deal with the devil to ensure our existence.
I don't care that we allied with Israel. We wanted to survive, and we did whatever we could to do so.

Unfortunately the desire to do things for good isn't necessarily enough to ensure it, like with all those who have succumbed to destroying or looting heritage, among other destructive endeavors, to fund each others' destruction to give themselves a chance from not being utterly annihilated
